Kathmandu, March 11, 2026 – Jagaran Media Center has expressed serious concern over the death of 16-year-old Inisa BK in Surkhet and has called for a fair, transparent, and impartial investigation into the incident.
The organization stated that the incident, which was occurred in the Janajagaran Community Forest area of Birendranagar–1, is extremely tragic, unhuman, brutal and highly sensitive that has shocked the nation. It urged the concerned authorities to do a fair investigation to ensure the truthful justice to Inisa BK.
According to sources, the girl was found unconscious on the morning of Falgun 23 and taken to the Provincial Hospital in Surkhet, where the doctor declared that she was dead. The victim’s family has complained and registered the case to the District Police Office in Surkhet, suspecting that she was subjected to gang rape and murder.
The police have immediately arrested to the persons who were accused by the gang rape, taken into the custody and begun an investigation. However, the post-mortem report has not yet been came out which has been raising the concerns about the fair investigation of the incident. .
Jagaran Media Center has demanded a thorough and independent investigation, the public disclosure of findings, and strict legal action against the culprits. The organization also urged the state to take effective measures to prevent such incidents by ensuring the safety and security lives of women and girls.
